Leathers
Leather corals are among the most hardy of the soft corals, and most can survive even new aquariums. Although classified as a soft coral, they have calcareous scutes that help give them shape, and they make some interesting ones! Coming in the form of tree leathers, mushroom or toadstool leathers, finger leathers and even crown shaped leathers. Make sure to look though all the available pictures when buying, as they can look very different as they get bigger! The kenya tree makes a fabulous starter coral, although it will quickly populate and need to be traded in to your LFS or passed along to another hobbyist.
